Gameloft and EA Celebrate iPhone 4 Release With Games

The iPhone 4 is coming this week and Apple users everywhere are celebrating.

Gameloft and Electronic Arts (EA) are getting in on the action by discounting some of the game applications for your downloading pleasure.

Gameloft’s blog announced the reduced price titles (for a limited time of course) this morning.  You can grab GT Racing: Motor Academy, UNO, Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, Shrek Kart, N.O.V.A. (Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance), and Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles for $0.99 each.  While the iPhone 4 will only be released to certain countries, the Gameloft deal is available to everyone worldwide.

Fans of the Sims will be glad to know SimCity is among the titles EA putting up on sale.  Like Gameloft, EA is practically giving the games away for $0.99 each.  Better snag titles like Need for Speed, Command and Conquer, FIFA 10, Madden 10, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, and Dragon Classic before EA changes the price back.  TUAW points out that you can buy all of these titles for the same price as buying the Rock Band title.

So if you want to load your iPhone 4 up with games right from the get go, you can do so cheaply. They won’t be those addictive free hunting games, but they’re still fun. Of course you have to like sports and car racing games for kids, but after shelling out $200 or so for the phone I’d imagine you’ll be thankful for a cheap form of entertainment.
