World of Warcraft- Ruby Sanctum? Not Today!

Ruby Sanctum

It’s patch day for us World of Warcraft (WoW) nerds and everyone is buzzing about the new raid area, the Ruby Sanctum.  Unfortunately though, we aren’t going to be able to explore this place right away.

Patch 3.3.5 is dropping with a bunch of new awesome features. Real ID is coming so, once you tell Blizzard that you and a friend are real life friends, you’ll be able to communicate across realm, faction, even platform!  I’m looking forward to being able to chat with my Horde friends on other servers!

The Chat frame is also getting an upgrade with this patch, adding a tab option so you can monitor private chats separately.  The Friends List is  also getting a boost with the addition of a “Pending” tab where you can see Real ID friend requests.  You’ll also be able to set your status to “available,” “away,” and “busy.”

The Ruby Sanctum was the big thing people were excited about.  However, a blue post on the forums (blue posts are from Blizzard employees) states that since the patch is dropping a week earlier in North America than in any other part of the world, the Ruby Sanctum raid will be delayed for a bit until Blizzard is “confident” about a time they can open it up.  This may actually be a blessing in disguise for, as we all know, patches can be glitchy, cause crashes, and be generally frustrating for a bit.  I’d imagine Blizzard wants to make sure the patch is bug free first before they throw us into a new raiding situation.

I know it’s not what we want to hear (I want to see red dragons dangit!), but at least the patch is a step closer to helping Alexstrasza and the red dragonflight.  We can only hope this is the last major patch before Cataclysm comes out.
